Engagement of the stakeholders through various activities including surveys, meetings, and Townhall sessions.

What are your thoughts on school discipline and the way it is exercised in your school district? What are your thoughts on restorative practices?

Our district uses restorative practices and it has its values.

What are your thoughts on how to improve student mental health

Mental health issues are personal and private. Discovery of mental health issues should diagnosed and plans of assistance implemented.

What are your thoughts on ways to improve Black student achievement in your district and in Michigan schools overall?

Cultural relevance, knowledge, diversity, and cultural sensitivity are needed to in improve Black students achievement.

What are your thoughts on how to ensure that all students and their families, regardless of race, gender identity, sexuality, disability, religion, income status, etc., feel safe and included in your district?

The use of inclusion, respect, and acceptance are needed fir all to feel safe in the school environment.

What are your thoughts on how to recruit and retain staff, particularly staff of color, in your district with regard to pay, benefits, and working conditions?

There is the need to recruit staff members of color from areas they are in. This includes recruitment at HBCU.
